Calcbot Help
- Why is there no button to clear the whole line?
The delete key in Calcbot is pretty smart. It will become a clear button when you are done with a calculation. In fact, after you hit the equal key, you can just start a new calculation without hitting clear. However if you want to clear the line before finishing a calculation, just hold down the delete key for a second.
- What does the “Round for Currency” option do exactly?
If you are calculating with monetary values, you can turn on this option to display the currency symbol of your current locale as well as round to the correct decimal place.
- Why are some numbers in the tape expression bold and others not?
Bold numbers are calculated values. They are a result from another calculation you performed previously.
- “Use Result” and “Use Expression”. What are those for?
These options let you send items from your history back to the calculator to be edited or appended to a current calculation. “Use Expression” will always replace the expression in the calculator. “Use Result” will do the same unless the expression in the calculator ends with an operator. For example, if your calculator expression says 5 +, choosing the “Use Result” will add the result to the end of your expression.
